Cragganmore 12

Distillery: Cragganmore

Expression: 12 year old

Vol: 40%

A lot happening on the nose. Fruity, light, grassy, big malt, vanilla or honey, can’t even be sure. The only thing I can say for sure is a hint of smoke. It’s light but it’s there.
Again hard to put my finger on. It’s very nice, for sure, but the aromas are hard to point out. I get some light fruits and hay, or grass, big malt again and quite warming. The smoke delivers a slight bitter note. The sweet note comes more from honey than vanilla this time.
Medium in length. Still warming, the sweetness is kept restrained by the slight smoke. Gets a little watery towards the end.
They say this is the most complex whisky in the world. I don’t know about that, but there is complexity for sure. A nice, easy and drinkable dram. For me the subtle smoke is the top thing.
