After our last trip to Scotland, we quickly decided that we would love to go again. As always, time and money were the biggest risk factors in our deliberation, but a few months ago we decided we would go again. Today is a week from our next visit to Scotland, where we will be coming back to lovely Dufftown, in a new round of discoveries throughout the land of whisky. As mentioned, Dufftown will once again be our home base for this experience. But this time we’ll also be making trips to the Northern Highlands (Glenmorangie), the Southern Highlands (Edradour & Blair Athol), and, something I’m personally especially excited about, a 3-day trip to the Orkney Island to make a long anticipated visit to the Highland Park distillery in Kirkwall. Furthermore we’ll be returning to the Balvenie distillery for a tour that we loved last time round. Then there will also be trips to the distilleries of Macallan, Glenfarclas, Glendronach, Strathisla and Aberlour. The last two are also revisitations, as we were there last year as well. This time, though, we’ll be doing the more exclusive and extensive tours, with a chocolate and whisky pairing tour at Aberlour. Obviously, a trip to look forward to. I’ve been counting the days for a while now, so I’m very excited about the whole thing. Of course, my father will be joining me again, and I’m sure we’ll have just as good a time, if not better, as last year. I will be putting up an extensive and detailed report of the trip when I’m back.
