Lovely heather honey sweetness with fresh and gentle peat smoke. Field flowers and lavender. Soft spice. Sophisticated.
Subtle and gentle. Again that mild smoke with flowery, honey sweetness and some nice, slightly bitter edged spice. Coffee, perhaps.
Gentle smoky aftertaste, what else could I have expected. Honey sweetness still, and for the first time there’s obvious malt. Everything gets carried off into a nicely soft and sweet finish, but with a welcome bitter edge.
This is a nice brother to the regular 12 year old. Different in the details, for me this is a more accessible whisky. The constant honey sweetness in every aspect is quite nice, and the slightly ‘rough’ edge to it makes it trademark HP. Again, not disappointed with another expression from Orkney.
